Thanks, Bob, I think I'm all set. The challenge will be have the gmane
gateway register me now so that I can use the debian-user newsgroup
rather than list. I'm optimistic that with the changes, things will go
more smoothly.
As for the "localhost.localdomain" issue, what you say is
interesting. I'll leave it in for a while, and then remove it, for I
do need eventually to install and run some non-debian software
(Eagle).
