Copy the /etc/init.d/skeleton file to your own name, edit it as you see fit to do whatever it is you need. Then install the symlinks to the other rc directories. cd /etc/init.d cp skeleton mystartrc editor mystartrc update-rc.d mystartrc defaults To remove the script and symlinks: cd /etc/init.d rm mystartrc update-rc.d mystartrc remove Bob
