Hi! It seems to be the best source of information on internet, really :)
Got the problem with tripwire. I run several woody installations checking integrity with tripwire which i remember i installed with apt-get. Now it seems that tripwire aint packaged anymore for Debian testing/woody. At least it doest show up on http://packages.debian.org/testing/allpackages.html In my case apt-get install tripwire ends with a message like aix:~# apt-get install tripwire Reading Package Lists... Done Building Dependency Tree... Done Package tripwire has no available version, but exists in the database. This typically means that the package was mentioned in a dependency and never uploaded, has been obsoleted or is not available with the contents of sources.list E: Package tripwire has no installation candidate Though it exists for potato and unstable. Then I stumbled onto a recommendation of using integrit instead. Very well i thought, but i stumbled onto an error of such a kind aix:~# integrit -C /etc/integrit/integrit.conf -u integrit: ---- integrit, version 2.03 ----------------- integrit: output : human-readable integrit: conf file : /etc/integrit/integrit.conf integrit: known db : /var/lib/integrit/known.cdb integrit: current db : /var/lib/integrit/current.cdb integrit: root : / integrit: do check : no integrit: do update : yes integrit (main): Error: walk_file_tree: Value too large for defined data type Is the integrit in general usable, i remember having some strange porblems with aide, too. And so i stuck with tripwire which works all right for me. Best Regards, Imre -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
