Did you compile the kernel yourself? If so, you probably need the 'kernel sends linux keycodes' option. I don't remember precisely what the option is (my mac at home is off). This isn't the default configuration for vanilla ppc kernels if I recall rightly. The opposite option being ADB keycodes, by the way. If you want to learn more about this you could search the archives (of debian-powerpc) from a year or so back (maybe more...) for 'linux keycodes' and/or 'ADB keycodes'. It was a big deal FAQ at the time, since everybody's keymap got broken when the switch was made. There is also some file in /proc you can echo 1 to which switches this kernel configuration.
