But of course. But that does not mean that #!/bin/bash is the best thing to start off system scripts with either. You were using /bin/ash not /bin/sh. I know nothing about ash, please educate me. Is ash ever a possible /bin/sh? Does ash claim POSIX shell syntax compliance? Bob
