Most laptop touchpads nowadays are supported by the regular PS/2 drivers. Try PS/2 or ImPS/2. The actual device output should be showing up on /dev/psaux. If that doesn't work, you can try enabling USB support in the kernel on the off chance that the touchpad is a USB device. (very unlikely) -Alex
