Lets understand one thing here. The IDE controller resides on the PCI bus. The
PCI bus (in affordable hardware) is 33MHz. ATA/66 / ATA/100 / ATA/133 has
_NOTHING_ to do with the bus speed of the system.
Wow! Thanks for the correction/save. I've been doing this on several of
my boxes, and I haven't had any problems, but I may have just been lucky.
From what Jan says, I'm inclined to remove this line from my lilo.conf.
Can anyone else second Jan's implied recommendation, or add any info on
the subject? Pros? Cons?
