Sure, as long as the commands don't require user interaction. All you
need is to devise a way to get the commands to the system. You'd
probably want to setup a specific address that is directed to a
program. That program (which you're about to write :-)) will read the
messgae, verify the signature (so that not just anybody can do stuff)
and feed the commands in it to /bin/sh.
The idea of serving a shell script via HTTP and pulling it when the
link comes up is nice, but you'll need to make sure that the same
script is only run once. (what if your friends dials in, disconnects,
and connects again?)
