When I run 'mkfontdir' on my /usr/share/fonts/truetype directory the resulting fonts.dir has no entries and consequently X doesn't find any fonts there. Why doesn't mkfontdir recognize truetype fonts and/or is there some alternate program to generate the fonts.dir file for truetype fonts and if so what package is it in? -- "Bad law is more likely to be supplemented than repealed." -- Dalin B.
