I've been trying to set up a desktop machine to act as a wireless router and am having trouble getting the wireless card to work. This is an orinoco silver in a Lucent PCMCIA adapter - I chose to go with the name brand to minimize problems. However:
Using: kernel-2.2.20-idepci, pcmcia-modules-2.2.20-idepci, wireless-tools 23-2 Card Services seems to work fine. However there is no orinoco driver. syslog: module /lib/modules/2.2.20-idepci/pcmcia/orinoco_cs.o not available Using: kernel-2.4.18-686, kernel-pcmcia-modules-2.4.18-686, wireless-tools 23-2 Card Services fails to start: /lib/modules/2.4.18-686/pcmcia/i82365.o: unresolved symbol isapnp_find_dev_R9991be23 [other things fail afterwards] Trying to fix this up: # /etc/init.d/pcmcia stop # rmmod pcmcia_core # insmod isa-pnp # /etc/init.d/pcmcia start /lib/modules/2.4.18-686/pcmcia/i82365.o: init_module: No such device I've gotten similar errors compiling my own kernel. I'm going to try not using modules next time. Any clues? Thanks in advance, Mark L -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
