I have had TogetherJ vers 4.2 up and running without problems. By now
4.2 probably an old version anyway; I no longer have a license.

Besides: It is proprietary software. As you discovered, it needs a
license file to run.

It should not be a problem running it on debian though; rumour has it
that a couple of the developers of TogetherJ use debian...
