I remember /etc/kernel-pkg.conf needs to be touched. Oh, older 2.4 images may not be good. Use at least 2.4.18 or later. Anyway, I can assure you this initrd scheme and highly modular pre-packaged 2.4 kernel-image need steap lerning curve. It was tough on me. > Will look at these.
