hi ya

i think you can only boot from hda/b,c,d...

some bios (motherboards) wont let you boot from hde/f/g/h...
        - took an hour to figure that out once.. :-)
        ( 95% waiting for it to go thru its boot sequence )

if you're having lilo problems...
        #

        lba32
        #
        # linear -- turn it off

        make sure the bios see the right sized disk too

        dont bother to go to next step if the bios doesnt see it
        correctly
