Thanks I installed the printtool and added the remote printer. Printtool updates the /etc/printcap file. It seems to work now. Does this mean I have to add every remote printer in my printcap config file? However. The problem is solved now, but I don't understand why it worked on the redhat system? I checked and their was no entry for the remote printer in the printcap file. Meanwhile I noticed that rlpr provides the same functionality as lpr on my old redhat system. regards, -Jeroen- -- Jeroen Valcke jeroen@valcke.com ICQ# 30116911 Home page: http://www.valcke.com/jeroen It's not the size of the ship, it's the motion of the ocean -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
