If you have a fast connection I would say just use the install floppies. They are fast and simple. All you need are two good floppies and you can install from the net. This is the only way I do installs and you might find it the best way. I would say try that before you download the .iso for the CD. You can find the potato disks at: http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/dists/potato/main/disks-i386/2.2.26-2001-06-14/ All you need to get is the rescue.bin and root.bin If you have a standard network card(read tulip, ne2kpci, or a 3com card which are ones I have been able to do this with) you can have the installer get everything else over the Internet. Also it sounds like your going to be using this machine as a desktop system. If you are I would recommend just going a head and getting woody because it is far Superior to potato for desktop systems. The disks for woody can be found at: http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/dists/woody/main/disks-i386/current/images-1.44/ Here I would recommend using the bf2.4 flavor. It is better in many ways to the standard install disks, but it is technically experimental and has had some problems. But I have been very happy with how they work. I hope I helped some. -- -Peace kid Scott Henson [EMAIL PROTECTED] "God's the ultimate playa, so naturally He's going to have some haters," rapper Ice Cube said.
