I've set up my KDE background to "Background Program", which runs the command:
nice -n 19 xplanet --geometry %xx%y -cloud_image ~/.xplanet/clouds_2000.jpg -projection orthographic -latitude 40 -longitude 250 --output %f.jpg && mv %f.jpg %f at 15 minute intervals. This is similar to the instructions given in the xplanet FAQ. However, every time the background updates itself, X's memory usage increases by about 8 MB. Right now, X is using 356MB of RAM, and it will keep increasing on every update until there's no system memory left, upon which X crashes. Apparently, X doesn't free up the memory used by the previous background images. Any ideas how to fix this? -- Brian Nelson <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
