A quick ps reveals that esd is already runing:
stan 17623 1 0 Mar17 ? 00:00:00 esd -nobeeps
"stan" is the user that I'm loged intot a gnome session as.
And here isa line form /etc/group
audio:x:29:stan,sandi
Any idea what to check next?
