Hi, I am facing some problem while recording from my tape player. My set up is as follows: Kernel 2.4.18, Debian woody, alsa 0.9beta10 Sound card: Yamaha ymfpci I can play mp3 files fine. I have plugged the stereo out of my tape player to the line in of the sound card. I used rec (from sox package) to record the audio. It is being recorded in mono. When I try the command
$ rec -c 2 test.wav nothing is heard; only silence. Has anybody faced a similar problem? Any suggestions would be helpful.
