So the short answer is, "I > don't know of such a way to do what you want.
VNC won't let you connect to an ordinary X server, but it will let you connect twice to the same VNC server. So if you use VNC locally as well, you should get what you want. And to avoid running 2 X servers on the same box, you could run the SVGAlib VNC viewer.
