Me too. Having recently started using Linux, I'd like to see a log of what files were put where, deleted, or changed. It's sort of frustrating to run apt-get, have it put 4MB of new stuff on the disk, and not know where any of it went (or how to even start the thing you installed!). Seems that something like this should already exist; if not, maybe I'll make it a pet project.

I am just wondering this because it might be useful if I ever do an upgrade and it screws everything up. I am asking now as kind of preventive medicine in case I do ever screw anything up. I would like to maybe record the exact command issued and what was installed because of that command. Is there any program or script already able to do this, or am I going to have to write it myself. Thankyou for anyhelp. -- -Scott Henson [EMAIL PROTECTED] -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
