Don't have Linux yet. But my IP is dynamic, and there were no
cookies in any of the 5 folders that XP hides them in, and there were
none inserted, even temporarily, during my visit.

Might want to check to see if your browser has the identification sections
filled in under properties. As for the dynamic IP, I've reset my modem and
router several times over the last few days, and I'm still using the same IP
address. Sometimes your dhcp server will keep giving you the same ip
address based on your mac. (We had that problem at my last job as well
the NT admin was given the task of adding dhcp to his server, and our
laptops kept getting the same ip address every time, even if no one else
was on the network at times. If a new box came on, and then one of our
Linux boxes joined, the newest pc would get dropped if he had one of our
addresses. Looking into this, it turned out the NT box that showed those
ip addresses belonging to us until they expired).
