The green LED is the power indicator, the AC indicator is different. As far as I can tell things are spinning down, but it seems more like an extreme sleep mode to me. If I hold the power button for six seconds, it turns off (which is how it's supposed to turn off). But I know it can be software controlled, because windoze does it. Incidentally...where is the "power off on shutdown" option? On my desktop boxes I just enable APM Bios Support, and it powers down, on the notebook I have far more than that enabled.
