If I run XF86config as root, will the file that it creates be used by all other users as well? I have just finished configuring the XF86Config.X Windows now starts up as root.As soon as I change to another user and try to start x (startx), I get an error and X Windows doesn't want to start.
Any ideas?

They all uses the same file.
Are you logged in to X as root and at the same time trying to connect as a user? What says the error message?
