This last bit doesn't parse apt sources list sites with a whole distribution - task-kde is a (virtual) package held in (at least unstable - I am using that rather than pototo - I am not sure whether potato has it) the database of files that the site has. What is currently in your /etc/apt/sources.list file? Apart from download time - why not just bite the bullet and upgrade to woody. This has the facility to then selectively get bits of later distributions using /etc/apt/preferences (although when I tried it got too hard because of dependencies - no idea whether thats improved recently). - -- Alan - [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.chandlerfamily.org.uk -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.6 (GNU/Linux) Comment: For info see http://www.gnupg.org iD8DBQE8Soyu1mf3M5ZDr2kRAgiIAJ9SroPvjlRIlYPKMgO5GD0Vc87K8QCePje2 JkAAoN1HxYLE7oc9Vy96onE= =exiu -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
