yeah i know its old ..i just didn't expect there to be so many seperate parts to a modern print driver in linux. e.g. linuxprinting.org ppd depends on ghostscript, ghostscript depends on gimp1.2(!), gimp1.2 depends on gtk ..gtk for a print driver???? thats just ..very unexpected. i guess i should of asked the list first before buying the printer. besides hP laserjets(postscript) i haven't bought a printer since my hp deskjet 500 back in 91 or 92(which i used until 2000 when i had to give it away because i was moving and didnt have the space). even the driver in woody didn't work.. ohwell.. least it works for now..now im struggling to get freebsd to see my parallel port, one last kenrel tweak and im outta ideas. thanks nate
