Why is it that alien says that it can only convert ver. 3 RPMs into deb? I tried converting my RPMs from Mandrake 8.0 and RH 7.2 into deb, but alien says it can't convert decause it is version 4 and it can only convert version 3. I tried installing it instead by using RPM into my Potato. RPM says that it cannot install ver 4 only version 3. So I tried installing RPM ver 4 from an rpm... it didn't work. it was also version 4. How can I use my RPMs in Debian? do I need the source of RPM?
