And do you mean in the kernel or via standard system API's ? If the latter, you can find most of the necessary info via "info libc". If the former, I don't know, seem to recall there's a book out about Linux Kernel Programming or some such... Otherwise, use the source and hit the kernel mailing list. -- Eric G.
