That's exactly what I do. My personal mail accounts, work mail, everything ends up in my home mail folders, thanks to fetchmail. Meanwhile, mutt is configured to know what to put in my From: headers according to what folder I'm in when I send a mail. > but then it makes sense to run local IMAP server (for similar reasons > that it's desirable to use fetchmail to fetch email).
