Is there a how-to or reference somewhere that explains the whole timezone/time stting thing?
There are lots of points which I don't quite follow... like when I should use the (numerous) various different commands for setting the time. Is linux supposed to automatically adjust for daylight saving times, or do I do it manually if auto - how do I make it happen if not which command do I use to set it. FWIW, my bios clock is set to localtime (as occasionally I do boot to windows), my timezome is set (using tzconfig) to australia/adelaide, which is normally GMT -9:30, except at the moment we are on daylight saving time, so I guess it's supposed to be GMT -10:30... cheers dc -------------------------------------------------------- But, with very few exceptions, it is the composers of the tunes, not the writers of the words, which have made our English hymns famous. The average Englishman will happily sing any words to a good tune. Reginald Frary "Don't upset the choir" David Purton http://www.chariot.net.au/~dcpurton/ [EMAIL PROTECTED]
