HI, Is there someone who knows how to install AC'97 sound card ? I have problem - I see the information:
Check your permission for /dev/mixer & your sound support in kernel.
If I'm root there is the same problem.
"AC'97" is a generic term; look for more detailed info with the "lspci" command.
Once you find out what chipset you have (using "lspci", you'll need to "modprobe" the appropriate module (something like "modprobe vi82cxxx"). You'll probably also want to add any users who need sound to the audio group.
