I notice that everytime I send mail to the debian-user list, I get requests to port 113 on my machine by the debian mail server. And host 216.234.231.6 is: murphy.debian.org Is there a program I can run that will bind to port 113 and give out some default value (ie. not real userid) when requests are sent to port 113. And the program needs to be un-crackable! At present I am not running an Auth server at all, and in any case, port 113 is blocked by my iptables firewall - DROPPED. But I would be prepared to open up port 113 if I could guarantee that the program would not give my real user id and there is no way that it could be compromised. Any ideas? Cheers. Mark.
