    $ mkdir /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/truetype
    $ cd /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/truetype
    $ <copy TT fonts from appropriate source>
    $ apt-get install ttmkfdir
    $ ttmkfdir > fonts.dir
    $ mkfontdir

...and add "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/truetype" to your
/etc/X11/XF86Config-4 file.
