This means that 87 packages are not fully installed. Re run apt-get update and apt-get dist-upgrade and post the errors that occur to the list so we can help you work through them. You can also try apt-get -f dist-upgrade to force the apt-get to continue. In my experience you can keep going until you get down to the final packages that won't install. --mike
