Wvdial is larger than pppconfig and, while perhaps easier to use, is more complex in that it uses heuristics to get data pppconfig asks the user for. It also uses pppd to make the actual connection. Pppconfig just creates the files needed by the pppd 'call' option. Pon is just a wrapper around pppd. > ...is able to find the right port?
