It's rather strange... all the files that you've listed are fine. However, I notice that somehow my regular user doesn't start gnome or enlightenment, and if I use xinit and then type enlightenment in the terminal window, then enlightenment would start... Any ideas? Also, should /etc/X11/Xserver have comments that are not denoted with #s in front? The first line leads to the path of X11, the second line says Console, but then the comments are not differentiated by anything.
