I've only just come into this thread (the sequence 75GXP caught my eye), but I've just checked and the serial number IC35L040AVER07-0 resolves to a IBM 60GXP which I've heard are safe from the problem the 75's had. At least that's what I've heard and I hope it's right, you have the 40gig model of my 20gig drive... Ross Burton
