I believe the file can be created by the following commands (I remember this hack from the xine mailing list): su - cd /usr/X11R6/lib ld --whole-archive -shared -o libXv.so.1 libXv.a -- Sir Isaac Newton: "If I have seen further, it is by standing on the shoulders of giants."
