Do you mean I should add the hosts who want to visit me to /etc/hosts, so telnetd will lookup /etc/hosts and won't lookup the dns server? For example, i am 192.168.0.7, and 192.168.0.1 -- 192.168.0.6 will visit me, so /etc/hosts should like 127.0.0.1 localhost 192.168.0.7 tao 192.168.0.1 zhao 192.168.0.2 xinhua 192.168.0.3 chen ... ? And, can I force telnetd dont do ip->hostname lookup at all? Thanks again tao (sorry, i forgot to cc to debian-list)
