The .htaccess file is put into the directory you wish to protect: ie /home/public_html/linux/.htaccess the first line of my .htaccess files tells apache where to look for the .htpasswd file. Such as AuthUserFile /home/my_home_dir/.htpasswd -- Never say "OOPS!" always say "Ah, Interesting!" _______________________________________________________
