Sounds like there is a (syntax?) error in the NIS groups map. Use 'ypcat groups' and see if you can find something obvious. Maybe you have groups with gids > 65535? That isn't supported by Linux unless you install a 2.4 kernel and glibc >= 2.2. Mike. -- Move sig.
