Besides running base-config, removing unconfigured.sh, I think there might be some code in dbootstrap to set up /etc/network/interfaces, maybe /etc/hosts, /etc/resolv.conf, and other network-related stuff as well. If you let it set up your network, that is; that can be skipped over during install from eg, CD. You haven't missed much. -- see shy jo
