And people think that mixing and matching packages is trivial and easy! :-) It would help if you said exactly which backports you were using for each of the packages which are involved. To debug the problem yourself, sketch out the dependencies of each the package you are trying to install and those of the package it wants to remove. By looking at what needs what you should be able to deduce the conflict. Bob
