I've been gone for about 3 weeks and did a dist-upgrade (testing) last night (Sunday, Sept 23rd) when I got back.
It was a big one obviously (162 packages), but the only issues that have emerged so far have to do with Eterm. Two issues in fact. [1] One is that the foreground font is horrible (grainy and blurred). [2] The second is more mysterious. I get this message when I call Eterm: mesg: error: tty device is not owned by group `tty' Then the characters 1:2c are printed after the prompt. This warning comes only from Eterm (not from a login at the console, nor from xterm, nor from rxvt). Similarly the font problem is particular to Eterm. I call Eterm like this: Eterm -v --font 8x16 -O -0 --shade 25 --foreground-color black --login-shell & Has anyone else seen these problems? Thanks for any help, Jim McCloskey
