If this is completely obvious, please disregard. However, I saw several posts regarding getting kde to use anti-aliased truetype fonts. Here is what I did (with sid):
apt-get install anti-aliasing-howto msttcorefonts After it is installed, just add the true type directory to /etc/X11/XftConfig. Eg: ... dir "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/Type1" dir "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/TrueType" ... Make sure anti-aliasing is enabled in the Fonts preferences and it should work fine (at least it did for me). I am using kde 2.2.1 from sid. BTW, I have always used gnome/sawmill or icewm and never liked kde, but kde 2.2.1 is REALLY cool and everyone should at least check it out. It was a big improvement over 2.1.x on my system.
