There are different ways of installing. You didn't mention what method you wish to use. You also didn't mention what you are trying to download a floppy image or iso image. What I would suggest to you is read or reread the installation instructions at - http://www.debian.org/releases/stable/i386/install Once you have done that and understand what installation method you are attempting, post back if you have problems. Linux isn't beyond you.
