Did a network install of debian stable and then an upgrade to unstable. Seemed to be okay.
Ran XF86Setup and this completed with the usual save screen. But there was not a linking message. Running 'startx' produces error notice: X: cannot stat /etc/X11/X (No such file or directory), aborting. giving up. xinit: Connection refused (errno 111): unable to connect to X server xinit: No such process (errno 3): Server error.
