I have this soundchip and it has been causing me a lot of woes. The sound will work for an hour or sometimes an entire day and then it will break and I'll get this kernel error: "i810_audio: drain_dac, dma timeout?\n" My guess is that the driver still has a few bugs. But I'm no guru (don't even now how to properly report a driver bug) so don't take my word for it.
