That's my card, too.  I also used a NetGear card, with the same sad results.
Both are newish, AFAIK... only a year or two old.

Huh.  I've always meant to learn more low-level TCP.  Thanks for the tip.

I considered doing that, but thought that fighting with floppies a
second time would be more trouble than it was worth.  That was many
hours ago... I'll give it a go with potato.
