> #apt-get get install cdrecord cdparanoia

apt-get install cdrdao (disk at once)

to read the cd:
cdrdao read-cd --device /dev/cdrom --driver generic-mmc --paranoia-mode 3
my_cd
to write a new cd
cdrdao write --device /dev/cdrom --driver generic-mmc --speed 8
my_cd

(the --driver can be different in your case consult the CD-Writing-HOWTO)

cdrdao does a real copy.. (not gaps,.. etc..)
