        Yes, it does. Like PCMCIA packages that aren't needed for a
        server or isapnptools for a machine that only has PCI slots or
        like ppp for a machine that will be only acting as a samba
        server.

        On the other hand, these packages *should* be included in the
        base install (but removed after the first boot, like it is
        done with PCMCIA packages) to support the installation of the
        system.
